The Ship Inn is the oldest public house on the Leeds-Liverpool canal, dating back to the 1700s. We have 3 open fires, and 1 multi fuel stove, which give it a real depth of warmth in the winter. In the summer, we have an expance of lawned area all around the pub, with beautiful views across the canal and the open fields. Also, as part of the outside area, we have a children's playground, with a slide, and climbing frame. In the evenings, we have an open mic night on both Thursdays, and Friday nights, going on till 12.30ish, attracting some fine musicians. We are shortly to re-introduce live music on Saturdays too. As we dont close the kitchen till 9.45.pm, Wednesday-Saturdays inclusive. why not make a complete night of it. Being an old pub, its seen many alterations through the years, never taking away the overall character, and quirkyness of this centuries old pub, which keeps people coming back time and again. What we offer at the Ship is wonderful food, in unpretensious, and rustic surroundings.
